Oven Spill Cleanup Done Right

Spills happen—but how you clean them can make all the difference in keeping your oven running safely and efficiently.

🧼 Clean Spills Early (But Safely)
If you notice a spill, it’s best to clean it sooner rather than later. Let the oven cool completely first, then wipe it down with a non-abrasive cleaner. Burnt-on food gets harder to remove the longer it sits—and can even cause smoke or odors during future use.

⚠️ Watch Where You’re Cleaning
Not all parts of your oven are meant to be scrubbed. Avoid getting cleaner into vents, sensors, or hidden openings. These areas are important for proper operation, and moisture or chemicals can cause issues down the line.

🚫 Stay Clear of the Heating Element
When cleaning, be careful around the bake and broil elements. Don’t apply cleaner directly to them or scrub aggressively—this can damage the element and lead to costly repairs.

❌ Skip the Self-Clean Feature
We recommend avoiding the self-clean cycle whenever possible. While it sounds convenient, it puts extreme heat stress on internal components and is one of the most common causes of oven failures we see.

👍 Pro Tip: For Oven door cleaning, sprinkle Baking Soda on the glass, then add Hydrogen Peroxide drops and let that sit for 15 minutes. Afterwards wipe gently with a damp sponge and dry it with a microfiber cloth.
